Summary
The Prodigal son, after squandering his inheritance in reckless living, comes to his senses and returns to his father, expecting nothing more than to be treated as a servant. But what he receives is something far beyond his expectations: a full restoration to his position as a son, with love and joy overflowing from his father.
He is watching and waiting for our return, full of compassion. He is ready to restore us completely, not as slaves, but as beloved children. And He calls for celebration when we come back to Him, because in His eyes, we have moved from death to life.
No matter where we find ourselves today—whether we are near or far—God’s grace is available to us. He is not a distant, angry figure, but a loving Father who runs to meet us. Let us turn to Him in repentance and experience the fullness of His love, forgiveness, and restoration.
